On our way, we will make stops to admire the many awesome sights and attractions such as the Merkurker ravine and Eyjafjallajokull Glacier famous for its' eruption in 2010 that enormously disrupted air traffic between western and northern Europe. We will see and learn about the history of the outlet glacier Gigjokull that crawls down the mountain pushing away every stone in its' path, and then we will take short hikes to absorb nature.
As we continue our drive on the rugged Thorsmork road, surrounded by three volcanic glaciers, Eyjafjallajokull, Myrdalsjokull, and Tindfjallajokull we will cross many rivers, each bigger and more exciting than the last. Our guide is enthusiastic about telling you everything he knows about the area and perhaps he'll throw in a story or two that the locals know.
